CHORUM RECORDS

Formed in 1999 from a hobby that began in 1976, Chorum Records has many years' experience in location recording and CD production, serving clients throughout the UK from its base in the Midlands.

Chorum has state-of-the-art equipment but is fundamentally a musical service, enabling amateurs and professionals to produce their best work on a properly presented, marketable CD.

Steve Swinden, Chorum's founder, has a strong musical background. He started learning the violin at 8 and at 13 took to singing bass and recording choirs, hence the name. These days Chorum makes CDs for brass bands, orchestras and choirs, plus soloists and smaller ensembles.

Chorum are often to be found recording concerts, recitals and festivals but make many 'studio' albums too - often on location in churches, cathedrals and concert halls. So far, locations have extended from Yorkshire to Sussex and from Cornwall to Suffolk, with occasional trips to France and Holland.

Material can be recorded live, in session, or a combination of the two. Whether it's an archive recording, a fund-raiser, a demo disc, or a double platinum album, all start with excellent equipment, good ears, a nice location and sympathetic treatment of your musicianship. CD runs of up to 300 copies can be produced in-house but most clients opt for 500 or 1000, for which the unit cost is much cheaper. Chorum Records has an account with MCPS and handles all royalty payments.

A popular service for festivals, music courses and concerts, is actually free. Chorum offers to record free of charge, and handles sales to the public after the event with no outlay or obligation on the part of the organisers.

Chorum can even supply public address equipment for your event if required.

Chorum Records has a satisfied network of local and national clients, including choirs, orchestras, brass bands and individual musicians.
